Pictograms　ピクトグラム

Pictograms are symbols that make you understand the concept of meaning from its shape. It has been used as a road sign in Europe since the beginning of the 20th century. The 1964 Tokyo Olympics were the first to be used officially with the international exchange. Since then, with modifications, it is now used in various aspects of life all around the world.

ピクトグラムとは形から意味概念を理解させる記号のことです。ヨーロッパでは２０世紀の始めから道路標識として使われてきました。公式の国際交流の場で使われたのは１９６４年の東京オリンピックが初めてでした。その後、修正を加えながら、現在では世界中で、生活のさまざまな場面で使用されています。
